This thread is AMAZING!! Ever since I joined this forum I've been slowly going through this entire thread, yes, all 52 pages, finally finished last night, and I just want to say you are all SO inspirational, and thank you for sharing your journeys and pics. It means a lot to someone who is just starting out...

Hey Kindle thank you for posting those. Great job! You look terrific. I'm digging the muscles... did you do a lot of weightlifting or strength training... ive mostly been focusing on cardio because that's what i enjoy but some definition would be nice.

Thanks everyone! And no, no working out or gym time for me. Those muscles have always been there, just buried under 100 pounds of fat. I have a physical job with lots of bending, squatting and lifting, and an active lifestyle with physically demanding recreational options....horseback riding, hiking, kayaking, rafting, skiing, snowshoeing, etc. Not to mention shoveling snow, feeding and watering horses and stacking 80 pound bales of hay. Now I can do all of these things without pain and having to stop all the time to catch my breath.

Best wishes to everyone!

This is my first time posting pictures although I do have before and after photos in my gallery. I really don't know how to post pics. Hopefully the pictures come out right.

I was sleeved on 4/8/14. I am currently 8 months post op. I still have about 20 pounds more to lose until I reach my goal weight. The top photo of me in the black and pink dress was taken on 12/5/14 weighing 144lbs (my current weight). The other two photos are during the process, I believe sometime in July 2014. The bottom photo is from Nov 2013 when I weighed 219lbs. My highest recorded weight is 235lbs but when I began my weight loss journey in Sept 2013 my highest weight was 219lbs.

My VSG was on December 17, 2012. My highest weight was 380. My surgery weight was 275. As of this morning, I weigh 136lbs. The side by side is basically my before and after-except I weigh about ten pounds more in the "after" ( pic was taken in March ). The other is Easter.

You look fantastic! Job well done :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
