I am scheduled for the 24th. Started this process back in September, so I have had a while to get ready. My liquid diet starts tomorrow, and that has me freaked out much more than the surgery. I don't know why. Best of luck to you, and please keep everyone posted as to your progress! Will think of you on the 27th! Maybe we can compare notes!

I'm the 18th and on day 10 of the pre-op diet. If I can do the pre-op diet, you can. I think I had headaches the first two (or3) days and day 8 was hard. I'd had a yogurt with too high of a sugar count and it triggered a hunger rage. I was "hangry". Hungry+angry. But I did not cheat. It's difficult, but doable.

Hi guys and thanks for the replies....it is so exciting and the diet is a pain but its only 2 weeks and I have done it before 2 weeks before I got my lapband 4 years ago....I remember being more excited then but this time I am getting all worried and teary at night, thinking about things that can go wrong with the surgery.

I need to try and focus more on the positives!!!!

You guys MUST keep me posted as to how you all get on and we should all keep in touch and share our progress.....not long to go now!!!!

My surgery is on the 28th and I am getting really nervous. I have not found a Protein Drink that is decent yet and I want to(but won't) cheat and have some farewell suppers! I started my liquid diet yesterday and a friend showed up with a piece of my favorite cheesecake from the "Factory" as a valentines treat for me. (Since it was day 1 I couldn't help myself!!! No more of that ?. Good luck to all of u fellow sleepers!

I am happy I have someone to go through this process with, we are next door neighbors! Plus having this site, and seeing everyone's experiences is a real source of encouragement, without everyone sharing their process I so not know if I could do this! Now I feel so confident and excited, no fear! I feel so ready to do this!

You are so lucky to have a neighbor to go through this with....my mum is doing the pre diet with me which is helping her as she has diabeties.........I want to stay positive but sometimes I get scared and think the worst. I have heard of a few people having life long problems from the sleeve and am scared about that but I am also scared to stay at the heavy weight that I am so I need to try to stay positive!

It feels good to know others are feeling anxious and scared about their upcoming surgery. My husband's best friend and my best friend's husband (same person) offered to do the diet with me. He had the LapBand placed about a year ago and had slipped some. Wants to help me and have me support him in a jump restart for him.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
