runt 26 Posted February 13, 2014 Ugh. My whole life I have hated shopping for clothes. Now that I have lost a considerable amount of weight. 220-165 I love to shop (not buy just try) Who is the one person who would drag me shopping for 6-8 hours at a time. But now, stands outside the dressing room and bitches cause I'm trying on 2 pairs of jeans. You guessed it.... mom. I Knew there would be those jealous and have an attitude about the new me... But her of all people Grateful my hubby doesn't say a word if I try on one pair or 10. His only complaint is why are you trying them on and not buying them??? 2 ☠carolinagirl☠ and FitnFabfor2014 reacted to this
mvickyway 256 Posted February 13, 2014 I don't know how you can only try, what do you do when they fit well and look spectacular?? My urge is still to buy when the clothes actually fit so when they look good to I cannot resist
mvickyway 256 Posted February 13, 2014 Course I am still "shopping " mainly at good will so it doesn't break my bank and helps me replace my fat wordrobe as I reduce

My urge is still to buy when the clothes actually fit so when they look good to I cannot resist Actually it is very hard to do!! But there is no way I will spend big money on clothes I know I will only wear for a month or two. Yes, the goodwill and second hand shops are my "go to" when I need to buy new. Was very excited to find a pair of jeans that new are $100.00 on clearance for $10. Yep I own them.
runt 26 Posted February 13, 2014 Just curious is Mom overweight? If so then there's your answer. Yes she is. And over then last two years she has put on a lot more weight. For the first time since I can remember I am smaller than she is.

Well I wonder if it is more of a matter of her not being happy with herself and the weight gain and as she sees you shrink it reminds her of that. That's not to say you Mom doesn't love you or support you. She is having the problem, not you.
runt 26 Posted February 13, 2014 I know she loves me, I guess it was just a "shattered idea". Mom and me being able to go shopping together. Lunch... Pedicures and a new outfit.... Silly things like that. Then poof, that bubble has been popped. I have tried numerous time and always get an excuse. Oh well. One of those things to grow up and deal with.
