jessileigh 8 Posted February 12, 2014 I had surgery on January 21st. I'm 3 weeks postop yesterday and I've lost 16 lbs since surgery and 27 since my preop diet. I just wanted to check in with everyone and see how it's going. 1 StephanieRR reacted to this

Comfy_Blue 285 Posted February 12, 2014 I'm about 7 weeks post opt and doing well. Unfortunately, despite all the scar cream I put on twice daily, 3 of my 5 scars are still raised and red. I'm not planning to wear a bikini ever, but I still want them to fade into nothingness. I am almost ine Onederland (yesterday I was 200.8!) and my husband's been inspired to get healthier and lose weight. He's taking Phentermine and has lost 10lbs. I am very pleased with my body right now. I can wear a large coat (used to be in 1X/2X), my ''tight'' jeans are now super loose and practically fall off me now, and I'm sweating a lot less. My sleep apnea is a lot better too. I don't wake up at 4am with a painfully full bladder anymore.
Aileen-March 2014 Sleeved 45 Posted February 12, 2014 Hello, I am getting sleeved on March 11th. It is great to hear you are doing well and the weight is coming off. Is there some advice to prepare for surgery that you can give. Or what major changes to expect post surgery. I was curious if any of you are doing OK with the post op Protein drink and what you recommend. Thanks Much!! and Congrats!!

My family says they can see my weight loss but I don't see it yet. I'm so happy your husband is starting to get healthy also, I'm going to make mine start eating more healthy when I can eat real food again. Lol oh I'm so ready for that day 1 Comfy_Blue reacted to this

Its not near as scary as I built it up to be in my mind. I'm still not getting in the full 60g of Protein every day somedays I do some days I don't. The Protein shake doesn't sit well on my stomach so I try to get it in other ways. As far as advice all I have is listen to your nut and dr. about everything and start training your brain now to take small bites of food and to eat more slowly. If you eat to big of bites too fast its painful. This is something you just have to learn as you go for the most part. I'm still lost on lots of things lol but if you ever have any questions just ask there is always someone out there who went through the same thing who can help you out! And good luck with everything! RebeccaRN 27 Posted February 17, 2014 I had my sleeve done on Jan. 7, so I'm about 6 weeks post-op. Have been doing pretty good with getting Protein in, my calories have been between 700 and 800, and I have been exercising, but I am having trouble with getting in all my Water. My weight loss has slowed the last 3 weeks and I was worried -- but I figure if I keep doing everything right (I'm continuing to work on the Water - 40 oz. so far today), the weight will eventually have to come off. 2 jessileigh and lauri407 reacted to this

I was sleeved on 1/4/14 .into my 8th week and down 35# . (March 5th today) Nervous about adding solid foods. I try bits of chicken but it feels like it just sticks there and hurts for a good 20. Minutes . So i just stick with Protein shakes and baby food type purries. When do you all start your solids? Maybe I'm just getting ahead of myself. Would apprecuate advice . Thank you Edited March 6, 2014 by amayzme

I am a little nervous about that, but I was very impressed with Dr. Miles. I will be glad to get the surgery part behind me. I am trying to prepare myself mentally, but it's hard to imagine how things will be on the other side.

I am trying to prepare myself mentally, but it's hard to imagine how things will be on the other side. I was the same way I just couldn't imagine. But its wonderful I feel so much better about myself. I can do my job better. And the surgery wasn't bad at all Dr. Miles is amazing. Very little pain. I've lost 51lbs since January and I know some people lose a lot faster but I'm just glad to be getting it off.
