Anyone's band get tighter as you lose more weight?

Recommended Posts

My band seems to get tighter with weight loss.;) I had to go back again today after several days of pb'ing. This morning my coffee wasn't even staying down so back I went.:D It's frustrating because I keep having less and less in my band...I'm down to 2 cc's...he took out .5 today.:phanvan Anyway, I recently lost 5 lbs and it seems like when I lose my band gets tighter. Isn't it supposed to be the other way around?

Wow, that is definitely unusual. Mine gets looser as I lose weight. The only time mine gets a little tighter is when it is that time of the month or if I am under stress.

Yes, I think it is the other way round, the more you loose, the less-tight your band feels (that's why we need to go for another fill every now and then). Maybe the reason you are PBing has nothing to do with what you feel as if the band is getting tighter, I mean, you surely feel as if the band is getting tighter but in fact the reason is something else and that's why you have those PBs.

Try calling your doctor and see what he thinks about that.

Hope you'll feel better soon,

niki

I have had to get a little unfill twice in the last year after about seven weeks from fill and loses. My doctor had no clue what caused it to get tighter after so long and after loses and I was'nt having pb's.Almost to goal tho so yes it has happened. The first time I tried to wait it out but it just kept getting tighter to the point of where liquids would'nt go down so the second time it happened I did'nt wait at all before I had a very small unfill.;)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
