fast tracked and fearfull

Recommended Posts

I've been working towards getting the surgery done for a while, from all my lab work, mental evaluation etc to my pre surgery weight loss.

well all of a sudden I got a surgery date (25th) and am starting my 800 cal two weeks today. It just feels like I've been jogging and all of a sudden I'm running full tilt to the end.

... and I'm scared.

All the fears are slamming down on me, will the surgery go OK? Will I fail at eating well? Will I loose the weight? Will my boyfriend still love me? Will the skin shrink down? On and on and on.

So rather then continue to spin in fear filled mental circles I figured I would post here, to contact others on this same journey.

Hello everyone.

A month and a half ago, I was in your shoes. I spent 6 months on an insurance program before they would approve surgery and then bam! It all got very real.

I was scared to death when if finally got real, but now that it's all over and I've had this sleeve for a month, I don't regret it at all. You'll do fine. Pre-surgery is a little nerve wracking, just make sure you have the anestisologist slip you a little something to relax you. After that, it should all be over before you know it.

The first few days-week after surgery are a little rough, but now, other than the fact I cant' eat very much, life has resumed back to normal for me.

My husband and I went to seminars 10 years ago and he was never ready. Last year we went to a seminar in August, loved the surgeon, started the process and boom it seems like it was all done and we had a surgery date 11/18 and 12/2. We are 65 and 66 and I feel 10 years younger and went shopping for hours a week after surgery. The process, 1 night in the hospital, was 10 times easier than we expected. Go for it. Don't wait until your health deteriorates. You will lose the weight. If your boyfriend doesn't love you after surgery then he can hit the road. This is for YOU and YOUR HEALTH!

i had a original date for august 2012 was like omg its happening ok get my head around this! mid april I got a letter saying your op date has changed its may these are appointments for group sessions blood work doctor appointments blah blah had a massive holy s*it moment it was like it slammed me in the face and was so quick!
It all felt rushed I was scared even on the actual day all gowned up in my bed in pre op (I was the last of the day so a 6 hour wait) I almost walked out and went home if it wasn’t for the fact my mum had taken all my clothes and stuff home with her and wasn;t coming back till I was done I would have lol
You wait and wait think your ready but when its time it shakes you down to your core because it’s a big deal a complete change of life after.
But honestly its so worth it, all of it the pain, the mental head F, the puking, the burping its all worth it for the quality of life after and all the changes it brings to health etc

I feeling the same and asking the same questions. My friends just keep telling me to stop reading the negative or possible cons and be excited for the pros. So I think we all have the same thought process prior but listen to how happy the post -op people are. I'm ready just wish I didn't have to wait 13 more days.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
