Yesterday was my first day back at work and everyone was like "OMG LOOK HOW MUCH YOU'VE LOST ALREADY!"

It helps, I guess that I cut my hair short while I was out. I had a luscious mane of hair that was impossible to wash right after surgery when I couldn't really lift my arms without pain, so I cut it all off and donated it to Locks of Love.

It's kind of nice because I haven't really seen any MAJOR changes in my body, but everyone else does.

Oh, and did anyone else's skin get super clear and super nice after surgery? Maybe it's because I actually got adequate rest and a full load of Vitamins, but my Irish red cheeks are virtually gone and my face has a great tone and texture.

It was nice! Some craziness came up in my family life and I was like "NOPE I AM BASKING! Y'ALL WORK IT OUT AMONGST YOURSELVES!"

Sounds like you are doing well. How long were away from work? I am scheduled for surgery March 11th.

How are you keeping the protien drinks down and any significant changes that stand out that you would like to share?

Best of Luck!

Thank you

I stayed out of work for two weeks.

I was never a big fan of the Protein drinks and I don't do well on them. I haven't vomited or anything though.

One thing that I've noticed is that I really don't like to eat and don't usually want to. I have to make myself eat. And I'm way more sensitive to anything sweet. I can't stand flavored yogurt anymore.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
