I am miss anti-tracker.

Always have been, since I Weight Watcher'd the crap out of myself in my 20's. I just have no tracking energy anymore.

So here's how I'm doing without tracking Protein, calories, etc.... anything really.

I am 2 months post op sleeve & have lost about just 1 pound in the last 2 weeks, but about 40 pounds since 12/13/13, including about 10 lbs in the the 10 day preop diet.

Breakfast: Starbuck's Tall sugar free, Non fat Mocha

Late Breakfast Snack: 2 slices (about an once-2 ounces) of deli turkey

Lunch: 3/4 cup cottage cheese with lots of pepper

Snack: Starbuck's Tall Non Fat Salted Caramel Mocha.

Pre-Dinner: 2 slices deli turkey

Dinner: Taco Time Beef salad, regular size. Ate about 1/2-3/4 cup of the beef, shredded cheese, pico de gallo & lettuce.

Snack: Freshly juiced apple, strawberries (about 1/2 cup), 2 carrots, spinach & kale - about 12 ounces.

Calling all nutrition critics!

I am miss tracker, so I took all your food and ran it through myfitnesspal's recipe builder to see what the numbers would look like. I had to make some assumptions but I think they were reasonable (you ate lowfat cottage cheese rather than full fat or nonfat, for example).

Here's the numbers I came up with for the day: 944 calories, 113 carbs, 80 grams Protein, 14 grams Fiber, 20 grams fat.

The calories and carbs would be too high for me on my plan (I stay under 800 and 60 respectively), but the protein is good and the fiber is too. I know lots of people who have numbers similar to yours and are losing just fine . . . sometimes patience and persistence are what is needed to break a stall. But if you are looking to change things up, I guess I would start attacking the calorie and carb numbers -- but that's just me and the program I follow. It isn't necessarily right for everyone.

Yeah, if those numbers calculated by BH are correct, I'd change it up. I always track my food because it is impossible to be sure of what you are ingesting without it.

I'm between 600-700 a day currently and around 75-80g Protein (no shakes). Sleeved 12/18.

p.s. I was advised to never take calories in via liquid (unless its a shake) as they are almost always empty calories. Might want to check those coffees for their caloric values.

Todays looks like this:

Breakfast (I'm a student and breakfast is not something I want to wake up early for!)

Multivitamin + Calcium Supp

.5oz Peanuts

lunch

4.5oz chicken Breast

shake n Bake Original chicken

1/2 Tbsp Ken's Honey Mustard

dinner

4oz Chicken Breast from Roasted Chicken (no skin/bone)

5 Honey Gold mini potatoes roasted in the pan with chicken

615 Calories

36g Carbs

17g Fat

75g Protein

I'll probably add a snack to that at some point in the day.

I agree with Bufflehead. I track every single thing through myfitnesspal. It's also helpful to see the other food logs of sleevers on there as well. I would be lost without it. For me the calories and carbs would be too high too. I'm 5 months post op and range from 500-600 calories and try to limit to 30 carbs. The Protein looks great though!

Here's a recent day for me. Aussiekye, I'm going to try to convert measurements to the metric system for you ^_^

Breakfast: 1/2 container (70 grams) Sophie chocolate Greek yogurt with 15 ml PB2 stirred in. I don't think you have PB2 in Australia, it's powdered Peanut Butter.< /p>

Lunch: 35 grams sliced roast beef, 1 Babybel lite cheese, 15 grams roasted edamame, 20 grams cinnamon almonds

Dinner: 3 thin asparagus spears, 40 grams mackerel, 65 grams (60 ml) cooked lentils, small amount of grated parmesan cheese

Snacks: iced coffee Protein Shake (1 scoop Chike coffee Protein Powder, 1 cup Carb Master milk, 1 spoonful instant espresso), Healthwise Protein hot chocolate made with 1/2 Carb Master milk & 1/2 Water, plus topped with a little fat free whipped cream.

Numbers: 765 calories, 53 carbs, 91 grams protein.

Thanks for the meal plans guys ! The variety looks great. Powdered Peanut Butter? ? Omg! That sounds awesome! I had a band for 15 yrs and practically lived on mashed potato. I can't wait to be sleeved and be able to eat healthy food. My fitness pal also seems like a great tool as well.

Awesome thanks for the feedback. I am going to cut out some liquid calories. Easy way to decrease my calorie intake a notch. Also, I didn't know I could also see what other sleevers are logging on My Fitness Pal. That's very cool! I will be new to the site but I'm going to give it a go.

I do believe tracking is important. It's time to create a new, good habit. Even if it's not every day, my NUT suggested maybe three days a week to help keep on track.

I love hearing others daily meal plans, too

Oh and random thought, but I think my dislike toward tracking has to due with sometimes having to guess. It' drives me batty to think the numbers are inaccurate.

Crazy, I know. My type-A is showing.

I am Type-A as well and it drove me nuts to have to guess. MFP has a HUGE database. Most of the time I eat out and customize the dish and generally someone in mfp has already calculated the stats with the customization (no bread, etc).

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
