Doddie, try Dr Woodhead in Ladner.

He charges $400 for an initial consultation and fill (yikes!) and $75 for fills thereafter.

I was banded in Mexico and he's who I see for fills.

Hi Devana. Thank you. I am thrilled you responded. I will make a note of his name and contact him. I don't mind the $400.00 it is a lot cheaper than going to Toronto. Again thanks. Doddie

Hi Devana. Just checking in. Saw Dr. Woodhead and he could not get a fill in my port. He thought it had flipped and referred me back to Toronto. It was not flipped just at an awkward angle. I see him again July 12. If he can't get the fill in I imagine I will have to fly back to TO for fills. Also, someone posted on the net he is not longer taking another doctor's patients. Quote "he doesn't like fiddling with other doctor's surgery". Don't know if it is true but will ask on July 12th. Doddie

SWLC has doctors/nurses trained all over the country to do fills for their patients. Since you were banded there, you should contact the nurses and find out where the nearest one to you is. They are always looking for more all over as well so if you happen to find one in your area, just let them know and they will train them.

The only place that does fills from the SWLC in my area is in Sexsmith, AB which is a 3 hour drive away.

I talked to the nurses at SWLC and said they will train any doctors who are willing to come down for training. I will have to beg my doctor here to go get trained on fills. LOL.

I was just wondering if the other clinics have people closer to me that may do fills from someone outside of their clinic.

Correction: No TLBC Fill Nurse for BC

TLBC fill nurse visiting BC next month will NOT DO FILLS FOR ANYONE NOT ASSOCIATED WITH THE TLBC.

There was a misunderstanding on the post that indicated for a fee she would do fills. However, the intent was for the Lions Gate Support Group no one else.

Yes. Check the website Northwestfills.com. Two nurses from Seattle do fills for out of state bandsters.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
