Sororities and being stuck

Recommended Posts

I have lost almost 150 lbs since my surgery in May. However, I still have 10 lbs to goal wrought and can't seem to lose it! Also, I'm in a sorority where all we do is eat and drink. It's really hard to stay on track when my sisters make me feel I have to eat and drink when I'm with them. Also, it frustrates me that I have 10 lbs to goal weight and I want to lose 10 extra on top of that, and people say they I don't need to lose any more weight.

Substitute! Raw veggie trays are always welcome at a gathering. If they wont provide one, bring a tray and make your selections from it. You'll be so full from them you won't feel any lure from the tacquitos, quiches loraines or finger sandwiches. As for the liquids, you can fake them out easy. Carbonated/soda Water, with ice cubes and a wedge of lime squeezed in it looks EXACTLY like a gin and tonic. Just don't let anybody taste it. You'll be getting your Water and saving a bajillion calories. And then you can drive your sisters home after!

If it's a red solo cup/keg party, apple juice looks like beer. Just cut it with water so you're not sugaring yourself too badly.

Best of luck! Oh and don't worry if you're the most fit one at the party. There are worse problems to have!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
