Help...what do I pack for the hospital

Recommended Posts

Wear loose clothing you can wear home (stomach at belly button are will be sore). We slept mostly, so no books or ipad/laptops needed. Needed robe for walks in the hall following surgery. 1 night in hospital, just used hospital gown they provided. We needed no gas-x, lip balm, and other things people recommended. In and out so fast! I can truly say it was 10 times easier than we expected, and we took 1 dose of pain med once we got home. Good luck, we are loving it!

There is a giant post about this at the top of the page and I spent most of the weekend going through it. Opinions vary. I'm bringing a pillow, chapstick, sturdy slippers and my phone/charger. I'm wearing yoga pants (with a foldover waist) and a loose t-shirt to the hospital, along with slip-on shoes and I'm wearing those home. I figure I'm going to be there overnight, not move in. Anything I really find that I need my husband can run home to grab.

Try finding this topic in the "guys" forum.....LOL. I used the shorts & flip flops I wore in to walk the halls. That's it. Didn't need anything else and wore same clothes home. And I was there 3 days. Like I said, probably a guy thing.

I went to MX and I kept it really light, I was there 3 nights, 2 in hospital 1 in hotel then came home.

i had comfy yoga type pants on with a pocket for the drain, flip flops for walking ( WALK A LOT!!!!!!)

I couple of snug loose tanks like old navy types, a zip up sweat shirt to stay warm or take off if hot.

I brought some make up and some travel size soaps and shower items.

I was really happy I brought snug clothing, It helped me feel not so out of control with my body.

The morning after my surgery I kinda fell apart and felt really bad and my coordinator told me to shower and I did with all my special items and it made me feel soooo good and like a new woman. I felt fresh and clean and clear headed. Also brushing my teeth helped sooo much.

I did not spend alot of time sitting or sleeping ebcause I was much mroe comfortable being up and moving, walking, rocking back and forth whatever to get the gas out of my chest.

So I would pack personal hygene products and snug stretch clothing as well as your phne charger.

I brought my phone, charger, kindle, chapstick, extra underwear and that's it. Anything else I needed was provided for me. I was too loaded on morphine to read and didn't use my phone other than having my son text hubby.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
