February 2014 post op losers

Recommended Posts

Hi friends!! I hope the holidays are finding everyone well!! Everyone seems to be doing so great! It's awesome to read the celebrations and some struggles of others, let's me know I'm not alone!

Things have been going pretty well for me! I'm down to 173 from 274 (surgery day)! Yay! Still have a bit to go to goal but I'm getting there. I know I really need to get into a better fitness routine. It's been pretty hit or miss. I have the damn gym membership now I just need to USE it!!!

Anyways, my husband had gastric bypass on Monday. Hopefully we will be outta here today! He's doing well. Seems he's beginning to understand a little more ;) going through it yourself and knowing someone who went through it...so different! Am I right? Can I get an amen?! Lol.

I'm super excited for him, and us as a couple! I've found a doc here in VA (his doc) who has taken me on as his patient since we moved from NY.

Best wishes for the happiest holiday season to everyone!

That's so exciting for you both. your knowledge wilkhelp your husband with understanding what his new pouch is going through. I think the first 6 months i drove my husband crazy with all of my thoughts and struggles.. but he was so supportive and just listened..

Best wishes to you both

I am really struggling. I have no restrictions and nothing seems to bother me. I am finding that I take a bite of this and one of that. Mainly sweets! I try to watch my calories and Protein but I sure don't want to fall into my old ways. I want all Christmas goodies to be gone! Thanks for listening.

Tis the hardest time of the season for myself as well. I have discovered that sweets no longer bother me and i am also worried about falling into old habits. Hope it gets easier for you..

Happy holidays

Hi,

it is a worry but this is a temporary period of time so maybe try not to worry too much and get back on track after Christmas. The surgery is a tool for life so it should carry on helping and this is a long term change for all of us and it is a marathon not a sprint. So hopefully it will all be ok in the long run, we mustn't beat ourselves up about small lapses. We are worth more than that.

Have a great Christmas

Claire

Hi Lynn,

I have the same problem. I even wish sometimes that I had more restrictions/problems to stop me from eating those treats :) One thing I have done is to make sure I'm still having three good healthy meals a day - menu planned, food in the house, sit down and eat etc. If I'm full, I snack less. Otherwise, my goal is to maintain my weight over the holidays and get totally back on plan in January. I also make sure I savor and really enjoy the treats I have, not just absent-mindedly swallow them. But having so many goodies lying around everyone's house is hard. Do your best and have a wonderful holiday.

Hi All,

I too wish I had more restrictions and I wish that sweets and carbs would make me dump! The only thing that I have a problem with now is milk products. I haven't posted because I've been struggling with the idea that I had lost as much as my body had chosen to loose and I didn't like that idea and it set me back... One milestone for me was to get into onderland before the first of the year but had decided it wasn't going to happen but lo and behold...post-191757-14192528852635_thumb.jpg

I did it this morning! So I'm going into this Christmas week with a very happy feeling! I've been on a 2.5 month plateau and maybe I've broke that. Merry Christmas and I wish you all the best of holidays...

Hi Tammy and everyone ,

Brilliant! Excellent news. I am plateauing too but people in my local group said that not losing at our stage is sort of normal, but that then they started to lose again. So I am hoping for that. Either way I am fine with it for the time being and if we have odd things that are not ideal then it is Christmas after all and we won't be doing that in January.

Take care all of you, it is so great to know you all and to be traveling on this road together. A new start with some new friends (at a distance) is such a bonus.

Have a lovely Christmastime.

Claire x

We will all be motivated with the rest of the world in January to commit to eating healthy. Don't be too hard on yourselves for enjoying the indulgences of the season. Skinny people enjoy in moderation. Enjoy life!

I have managed to still lose a bit here and there during the last few weeks, which is an amazing feat. I work at a school where the treats flow freely!

Merry Christmas from Caisley and me! post-95757-14192688301078_thumb.jpg

New Year's Eve! 145! 20 from my ultimate goal. Those are size 7 jeans and a medium shirt. I can't believe it!

Oh and that is my teenage daughter's messy room. Not mine.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
