So Peanut Butter is on the soft mushy phase? What do you eat Hummus with?

I use bean crackers to scoop my hummus but I'll eat it with a spoon (better for mushy stage). When to move on to regular foods you can spread it on Joseph's Protein tortillas, too, then roll it up. My favorite is spicy red pepper or jalapeño hummus. I love spicy flavorful foods!

Me too. Sounds delish.

I'm also struggling with finding something interesting to eat as Protein.

But even more, I was also wondering what people at the hummus or Peanut Butter with.

One thing that I do like to have is a Scotch Egg, or a modified Scotch Egg.

Make some hard boiled eggs and peel them when done.

Take some ground turkey -- a handful that looks like a large meatball -- flatten it out and then wrap it around a hard boiled egg. Then roll it in some parmesan cheese. Do this will all the turkey.

Then bake in the oven at 350 for about 20 minutes. Yum! It's a nice warm meal and very tasty but also portable.

Am I the only person who dumps on Peanut Butter? ?? Even the reduced fat... I use PB2 and love it... But every time I try peanut butter either in my Protein Shake or by itself it makes me dump horribly for hours!!!

Hi, anything milk, chocolate vanilla etc makes me gag or nauseous for hours. I like the 15 calorie minute maid light mango and passion fruit drink: 8 ounces with 2 scoops nectar unflavored Protein, mixed and frozen fir about 10 - 15 minutes until icee consistency. I can stomach this for Breakfast.

If I'm feeling okay, I purée a Dole's peach in juice cup, strain it and add it too. If i do I add a third scoop of Protein.

I also like 4 ounces Water with orange Kool-aid liquid and a scoop of the unflavored protein. I also freeze until icee consistency.

I sip it, let the heat of my mouth warm it and "Tada"

Some like Isopure bottles. I liked them pre-op but after it's gross, my son drinks them after the gym.

I haven't tried PB2, but you can find in on Amazon, it's a powdered low fat Peanut Butter. It gets good reviews.

I didn't know what PB2 was so I Googled it and it is a powdered processed food. They turn the peanuts into powder but extract some of its natural components. The thing I'm not loving about this way of eating so far is all the crystal light and aspartame I ingest on a daily basis. I don't thing that's all that healthy. It's in yogurt, pudding, just about all the food. Anyone else ever worry about it?

hummus is good on non-fibrous crackers (the kind that turn to mush when chewed). I often make turkey and cheese rolled up with hummus, but that is more for the solid food stage.

There's only one place around here that carries PB2 and it's expensive. I usually just buy Skippy reduced fat peanut spread.

I don't really worry about it, but I don't really like the taste of chemical sugar stuff. I use regular sugar and I don't usually go for sugar free stuff. I just watch how much I have. Once in awhile I'll have something with fake sugar. Like my Protein Powder has it, and I have one scoop a day. But that's pretty much it.

So you can tolerate sugar? How long ago did you have your surgery? Where can I find those crackers?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
