How did you pamper yourself?

Recommended Posts

I want to pamper myself for my progress.

I wanted to buy myself a Pandora charm for every 10lbs I've lost.

For my 1 year I'm going to treat myself to a new wardrobe and shoes (including work out gear and sneakers). I don't want to go crazy because I am not at goal yet. Still trying to figure out what I will do when I make it to goal.

I like to treat my self to a pamper day and get my hair highlighted and cut, sometimes a pedicure with a message chair, Yes i know it is the small things but i do appreciate them.

I also get small treats for every 10lbs, something to help me in my journey to a better exercising lifestyle!

Just got myself Jullian Micheals 30 day Shred.

I love to read so I buy myself a book for every 5 lbs I lose. And I get myself something bigger for every 25 lbs, but it varies depending on what I want and need. When I got under 200 lbs for the first time in over 25 years I bought myself a new Kindle Paperwhite. :)

I wanted to buy myselft new shoes for every 10 lb. Next thing I knew I lost 20, so I went out looking for 2 new pairs of shoes but could find the style I was looking for. I am glad I didnt though because the shoes I own are feeling bigger on me. I guess my feet are getting smaller, I just never new I had fat feet.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
