Thanks!! I'm feeling pretty good! A little sore by one of my incisions but that's about all.

Best of luck to you!!!!

Well my surgery is in just under 12 hours now. I'm really nervous and excited at the same time. I really can't wait to get my new life rolling and get myself healthy! I'll post up as soon as I can with some updates. Fingers crossed!

How much have lost since surgery? What are you eating? Are you posting on post-op forum now? If you are so I can look for you I don't want to be asking you what you already post it or same questions others have asked you! :0)

I'm down 17.5 since surgery and 43.6 total since I started this whole process. I'm on the soft food diet right now so I've been eating egg whites for Breakfast, tuna or Soup for lunch and a Protein shake for dinner and sometimes another shake as a snack throughout the day. And I'm drinking a lot of Water. I've mostly been posting in this thread and one called pre op diet. Haven't really done much in the post-op yet

I'm sure you will!!! Just try to follow the drs instructions as closely as you can! I don't get really hungry or mind hungry. I kinda just try to eat something every few hours.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
