sleevie.wonder 306 Posted February 9, 2014 I am still pre-op, should be having surgery next month, but always wanted to be a surrogate mother at some point in my life. Does anyone happen to know if having this kind of surgery would make it so I couldn't do this in the future? I know you have to have a healthy BMI to to surrogacy. Wasn't sure if it was considered a "risk" that they wouldn't allow me to do it. Thanks
soocalchic 1,087 Posted February 9, 2014 Being a bariatric patient would automatically qualify you as a high risk pregnancy, Most people are not willing to do since they are spending a lot of time money and effort to have a healthy baby
mamachef 37 Posted February 14, 2014 Most likely you would be immediately disqualified because of the surgery. Parents pay so much for surrogacy they are not going to use someone who would automatically be considered high risk.
