You bet we're doing it!!! And we are going to look MAUVALOUS DAULING. Well, it might take 6 months but we will!! Sandy I'm so happy to hear you got a surgery date for this month. My date is tomorrow the 10th and I think there are quite a few of us having surgery tomorrow. I'm sure there will be wide range of experiences but I know we will all do well. Get started on all your pre-op stuff and I wish you lots of luck.

Absolutely Sarah! For one, my mom is driving me bananas! Everytime I speak to her it's an argument or close to it. It's her passive aggressive way of projecting her fears onto me but it's not gonna happen! She's asked me several times, "Aren't you scared?" I'm like really mom? My reply was, "I would be naïve and stupid NOT to be scared, but I'm more afraid of living the rest of my life in my current condition." It stopped her...for now:) If I have to have less and less communication with her for the next two weeks (during my pre-op diet), then so be it. Don't get me wrong, I love my mother more than life itself, but NOTHING and NO ONE will keep me from doing this FOR ME.

Excitability is the major emotion that I am feeling these days. 18 days to go and I am sure the closer it gets, the more emotionally charged I will feel.

I am having a lot of overwhelming feelings and emotions anyone else?

Good luck, y'all! I'm 3 days post and once I got off morphine, I was great! I had no issues with gas. Just a little nausea now and then.

I do have a question as it seems that the posts in which I have been reading differ. Is there a requirement to have the shots(blood thinners to avoid clotting) post op? Congratulations on your sleeve, continued success on your journey

Hi there! Best of luck to you! My date is 2/24, so I am still 14 days away from my big day! I start liquid diet on Friday, and am kind of worried about being able to do that part. 10 days is a long time! But I am so excited and so committed to this that I hope to be able to sail through it with flying colors!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
