Hello!

My name is Ginger, I had Lap Band surgery on January 28th - so far I have lost 15 lbs. I've had my first fill! I feel better!! I have noticed the pain in my knees I was living with for the past two years is now going away!

The only problem I have is being patient with weight loss - - - I feel as though I have been stuck at the total loss of 15 lbs for the past month and nothing is happening!!

Any suggestions??:think

All I can say is that it takes a few fills to get great restriction - and up until then it is just soooooo easy to eat more than you think you are.

Be brutal with yourself. Count calories - try to avoide sauces and gravies - or if you eat them, measure them with real measuring cups and spoons.

Also - if you are not exercising - at least a little bit - you will never lose the weight. Even 15 minutes of day of steady walking will help. If you haven't exercised before - work your way up.

Start with 5 minutes a day of dedicated exercise and go up a couple of minutes every few days. Before you know it, you will be exercising 30 minutes a day - and the weight will fly right off your body...

Good luck!

Thank you- maybe my next fill will help. I am eating a healthy diet Protein, low fat, etc. No gravies or sauces.< /p>

I am exercising - I swim at least 2 to 3 times a week, so I am anxious to see if the next fill will help! I don't like not loosing! ;)

With me it took awhile before I got to my sweet spot in terms of restriction...and it took about 3-4 fills GRRR very fustrating but you will get there just be patient...sounds like you are doing all you can so that is great...soon you wont know yourself.

Be patient! You haven't had a fill yet! You are still in the healing part so just follow your doctors orders, and you'll get there. Good Luck!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
