Pepper1382 35 Posted February 9, 2014 Hi everyone! So I am scheduled for my sleeve two weeks from tomorrow, 2/24. For the last approx 24 hours I have had a scratchy throat and pain when I swallow. It feels kind of like the beginning of strep throat. I am going to the clinic as soon as they open this morning to hopefully start treatment ASAP. If it is strep, my antibiotics should be done before surgery. They wouldn't postpone me for that, would they?? Since the treatment would be done?? I have everything in place for this to happen 2/24, I really can't get postponed, I am so worried! Anyone in a similar situation pre-op?? Please God!! jyl2 6 Posted February 9, 2014 I had to take a regime of antibiotics for two weeks prior to my originally scheduled surgery date. And due to that, my surgery was pushed back two weeks. I would advise to simply inform ur surgical team of any and all medical treatment u under go. You should have a pr - op visit prior to the surgery date where your options can be discussed. 1 Ballermom reacted to this
Ballermom 803 Posted February 9, 2014 I think you should be ok . Its good that you're getting a jump on it and gettng it taken care of. And rember to hydrate yourself. I would just give it a several days and see if it turns around and follow up you should be fine. good luck
