first time in my whole life..

Recommended Posts

I've been training to participate in a 5k mudrun in may..I practice on the treadmill and today I ran for 6 min before resting..up until today I was only able to go 1 or 2 min before needing to walk...best feeling ever...what has your sleeve enabled you to do for the first time?

I remember when I started running after losing weight. It was a strange feeling when, for the time that passed into my run, the heavy breathing had not started. No walls presented themselves. I soon realized that my heart and lungs were not going to stop me. It was my 64 year old hips, knees and ankles that wanted to quit.

I felt like I was that skinny pre-teen that used to run everywhere, not because I was late or in a hurry, just because it felt good.

I really was surprised...when I wasn't "dying" after each passing minute and how even when I reached that 6th minute I wasn't terribly winded ..I can't wait to try again tomorrow :-)

Nothing for the first time, however it has enabled me to do things I was able to do when I was younger. I love getting a second chance...a do-over!

Good luck on your run tomorrow Forrest! ;):D

When I first started my program last September at 235 pounds, I was housebound with post-stroke balance issues (which my pendulous overhanging 53" belly made worse) and limitations due to osteoarthritis and complications from joint replacements. On the worst of days, I tried to do some kind of exercise, even if it was chair exercises or Pilates on my bed.

My stamina was poor.

Now, at 42 pounds down, I can do a 12 minute one mile speed walk video (in house) before Breakfast and an additional exercise session later in the day....and I am strength training every other day! My energy is not great every day, but at six weeks post-op, I will take the improvements as they come.

But today, I was able to venture away from my rolling walker during my video, and actually JOGGED down the hallway. Unbelievable. This sleeve is so worth it.

Man, I love these kind of restoration stories! Very heart-warming to me.

I can almost hear George Harrison in the background singing.."Here Comes The Sun"!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
