Cleveland here too! My out of pocket expenses were going to be crazy with Cleveland Clinic so i chose to do my WLS at St. Vincent Charity hospital. No complaints there, everything has gone smooth and the team is great. I just finished most of my pre op appointments it feels good to be this far along. I have two more nutritionist appointments... last one should be October 3rd! I do need to check with tge office but I don't have a surgery date yet, anyone know how long it usually takes to get a surgery date after ins approval? And when did you start your 2wk pre-op liquid diet? I like to be prepared lol... Just trying to figure out a timeline

I'm with st vincent as well!!! My last pre op appointment will be on October 13. We're pretty much on the same timeline! Will you be at support group tomorrow?

Hey Lulabelle! Sorry I just noticed this. I was not able to make the last support group meeting at St vincent but I will be there this week! Hope to see you there :)

Columbus area! Surgery was August 27 with Dr. Marcus Miller at Mt. Carmel Hospital. To all of you coming up on Surgery dates. Wishing you a wonderful journey! I am thrilled with mine so far. There are things I am learning and going through. Wouldn't change a thing. Very Happy with my choice.

Mine is November 6th with Dr. Nirav Rana at Riverside! I'm finally over my initial, "Oh crap," feeling and I'm just ready for the 6th to get here!

Had mine done at riverside also, August 19th with Dr. Sonnestine. Love the program!!! It's work but it's all worth it so far at 2 months out.

Yay!! Another Riverside person! It is an amazing program!! I feel so supported and they really make sure we are prepared. I'm terrified and excited right now lol.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
