kitch101 24 Posted February 8, 2014 Does anyone know why it is we can't have Water 30 min before or after we eat?
gohelpyourself 377 Posted February 8, 2014 yes because it overfills the pouch. Your tiny tummy can't accommodate both liquid and solids at once.
mooncat 106 Posted February 8, 2014 I can share what I was told. If you drink while or right after you eat, you will wash the food out of your stomach. If you drink right before you eat, your funnel is wet and food will not spend as much time in the stomach. Either way, you will get hungry too quickly. JeanZ_RN 378 Posted February 8, 2014 I'm with mooncat. I asked my surgeon why, and he told me it's to keep food in the stomach longer, so we won't be hungry again as soon.
kitch101 24 Posted February 8, 2014 Thanks for the fedback. I forget to keep track of the time sometimes. I sure don't want to get hungry sooner than I should.
JeanZ_RN 378 Posted February 8, 2014 I keep a pencil and paper beside me, and jot the time down. Otherwise I'd lose track. 1 kitch101 reacted to this
