There are lots of previous threads on this, might be the most popular topic. That being said my favorite is powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury chocolate Splendor, PB2 Peanut Butter Protein, skim milk and ice in a blender. Today I used Chike coffee Protein (1/2 scoop) with the chocolate Splendor for a Mocha shake that was excellent. I like the Unjury products: strawberry Sorbet (with lemonade), French vanilla and unflavored.

For RTD I use Premier Protein (choc or vanilla) or Atkins shakes.

I make my own...starting with 100% whey....35gm Protein...8oz's of almond milk...then add just about anything I'm in the mood for....all in a good blender....

This morning I kept it simple and just added 2 shots of espresso....but I usually get more creative than that...

I do not like pre-flavored mixes, but rather add fresh fruits, berries, etc....

Is it unflavored or vanilla? I wondered about making a coffee drink. I tried Chike coffee - it was not for me. I'm 1 week out from my pre-op liquid diet. I'm getting scared and wonder what really works for other people. I've read some of the past forums, but it's really nice to be"apart" of the conversation. Thank you both for your replies!

I'm in UK. so what I use is probably unavailable in US, but I always use unsweetened almond milk nowadays, as oppose to Water - I feel I enjoy it a lot more and its the shake doesn't fill me with any dread whatsoever :)

Almond milk is becoming very popular...the health club-gym I go to started offering it in their shakes.....I bought some and use it in my shakes...very smooth and flavorful....going to try it in my coffee...see what happens.

I avoid dairy products when possible.....

That's what the PB2 is its only 22.5 calories for 1 Tbsp. A lot less than actual peanut butter!

I find a favorite, drink it for a while, then get bored and then find another...

Lately it's been unjury chocolate Splendor, 8 ounces of 1% milk, splash of sugar free Peppermint Syrup, 1 teaspoon Hershey's cocoa and some ice cubes. Whiz up in the blender...tastes like Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies. Yummo

I really like Premier Protein RTD. I'm worried if I drink too much of it, I'm going to get bored. When you all did your pre-op diet, did you have a routine (A certain drink for Breakfast, something else for lunch something for dinner) or did you drink the same thing 3-4x a day? How many Blender bottles do you own?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
