Cellulite and Stretch Marks

Recommended Posts

I'm getting banded in a few weeks and I've been wondering what my body will look like at or near goal. :help:

Does cellulite ever disappear? Do stretch marks ever fade back into the skin? :faint:

I suppose I'm hoping that everyone will say "Yes Sheila!! My stretch marks and cellulite are ALL gone!" :clap2: Wishful thinking, I know.:think I suppose I'm hoping that my age will help my poor skin snap back into place and my body will forget that it's ever been obese. Kind of pathetic and vain but I'm still curious none the less.

Thanks for reading. With love, Sheila

I've heard there are things that do help... and it varies. I have no clue how I will look either. I am curious and anxious. If nothing else I want to lose the weight so I can see what it will look like! I know there are some pretty cool plastic surgeons can do though for some of it (not sure about inner thighs so much) and I hear strivectin and retinal A and Vitamin E help with stretch marks and skin. I am currently doing microderm abrasion and firming lotion and pep talks for my skin as well. I don't know if that does much good, but frankly, my breasts have never been smoother or softer.

Fraid not.

I dont have many stretchmarks, I dont know why, just lucky. I have a few over my hips, but after 3 babies, I guess I've basically got good skin. Lucky not to have an apron.

But the cellulite on my thighs and backside, if anything, its worse than it was because now its not filled out tight with fat, its a bit more jiggly.

Dont even ask about my boobs, lol.

I think childbirth and breastfeeding has done way more damage than weight though.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
