Monday, February 10th...my big day.

Recommended Posts

Two more days on the pre-op diet and then Sunday nothing but Clear Liquids and then that lovely " cleanse". Atleast it will be the easier Gatorade cleanse. Monday is the big day for me and I am so excited about my sleeve. I am ready for this and I am praying that all will go well for the surgery and I will have an easy recovery. For the rest of you out there who are having surgery on Monday. Sending you prayers and hugs and hoping all goes well for you. Happy Losing to all you.

Where are you having your surgery? Just curious if you're in Orange County from the "OC" in your screen name.

Jencovi...St. Joseph's. I actually wanted to go with Eric Pham but my insurance dropped him for some reason... something paperwork related not anything major. So after meeting with Pham I had to move to Hamamji, but same office as Pham

Hi ONE MORE TIME, I will definitely be praying for you tonight and in the morning. My surgery is at 8:45. I have to be at the hospital at 6 am. I will be the second person to be sleeved. (There are only two of us on the 10th so we should be getting extra special care). Remember, God will be watching over you and wants you to be healthy as much as you want it. He says our bodies are a temple so you know He's not going to let anything bad happen to that temple. Looking forward to sharing this journey with so many fine people.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
