edistogirl2602 0 Posted September 13, 2004 Go figure! Twelve days before my surgery and I get Cat Scratch Fever. Ted Nugent anyone! I went to my doc and got some antibiotics and he said it shouldn't delay my surgery. I think the evil forces of wickedness are trying to get me down. Not gonna happen. I'm almost there! leatha_g 4 Posted September 14, 2004 LOL, I'm a big Ted fan. Can't even tell you how many times I've seen him. He was even both of my kids first concerts. lol. Hope you get better soon!
Rebeccalee 2 Posted September 14, 2004 Did your kitty scratch you because she's mad that you are making plans to get rid of you plush tummy pillow? :Bunny Hope your surgery goes on as planned.
New Hope 37 Posted September 14, 2004 What is Cat Scratch Fever? With all my animals, I can't believe I haven't had that one. Really, I do hope you get better, really, really fast. But I can't get that song out of my head now! LOL:)
edistogirl2602 0 Posted September 14, 2004 I actually don't feel too bad. What got me concerned was that my lymph nodes under one of my arms were swollen and hurting. Then I got bumps where the cat scratched me and then yesterday I felt like I was getting the flu. I feel much better today, but didn't want to take any chances with my up coming surgery. My husband keeps walking around the house singing the song! Apparently, this is something that is more common in kids than adults. Leave it to me to get it. In case you were wondering, both my kitties are very sweet and didn't mean to scratch me. I'm their mommy and they love me the best.
New Hope 37 Posted September 14, 2004 Two weeks ago I had to take my cat to the ER vet to have his eye surgically removed because it was so badly mangled. Traumatic experience for my cat and me! The vet said it was caused from a cat fight. Apparently cat claws are very, very nasty. I won't be taking any cat scratches lightly after that! I'll clean and put antibiotic salve on any and all. DeLarla 22 Posted September 14, 2004 Are you people trying to tell me that Cat Scratch Fever is a real disease? Am I in Homer Simpson land? I seriously never thought it was for real, even though I'm a big Sweaty Teddy fan myself!
New Hope 37 Posted September 14, 2004 Lisa, I'll let you talk to my cat about that one. Just think about where those cat claws have been. Litter box, hunting, etc. Yuk!
Iluvharleys 15 Posted September 14, 2004 Yup, cat's claw's are very dangerous. My Mom's cat punctured her dog several years ago and they almost lost the dog. Sure hope you are feeling better! Betty
edistogirl2602 0 Posted September 14, 2004 I actually don't think one of my cats did the scratching. I have 5 little bumps where the claws went in and my cats don't claw me. They may scratch me if they jump off my lap or something, but they don't poke their little claws in me. I think the culprit was a sweet baby kitty at our local pet store. I can't resist holding a baby kitty and this one got a little scared and gripped me with her claws, hence the 5 perfect puncture marks on me. And not to cause any decention in the group, but I'm not really a Ted Nugent fan. I only know the words to the song because my husband keeps singing it. The only thing I know about Ted is that he is/was the president of the NRA.
