cheyenneb 3 Posted February 6, 2014 So I was sleeved 4 days ago and couldn't be happier!!!! However when I drink I sometimes get pressure in my stomach area...Is this common? I'm doing everything by the book by drinking 1 oz every 15 minutes and walking 30 minutes every day. I coughed for the first time last night and boy was that painful (at first). I hope I'm doing everything I'm supposed to??!!
RJ'S/beginning 5,358 Posted February 6, 2014 Don't panic just yet. it sounds to me like you are doing really well. You are going to be sore because they took 85% of your stomach out. It is tender and swollen. there will be signs if there is something going wrong. Fever. Fullness, not just fullness but extreme fullness. Sore aching all over...You would know if you were in trouble trust me... Make sure your getting your G2 in as well to keep hydrated. I use 1/2 Water and 1/2 G2 Gatorade.. Congrats on the new journey..
gohelpyourself 377 Posted February 6, 2014 the pressure you are experiencing I am having the same issue as well. I too am post op day three. I think that pressure is what it now feels like for our stomach to be full. I had some cream Soup today and after a few tablespoons I felt it.

mythbuster1304 10 Posted February 6, 2014 Small sips and try room temp or warm liquids. Cold Water did not agree with me the first week. Make sure you're taking your PPI/Prilosec if your Doc prescribed it. I'm on it twice a day and it helps keep the acid down.

macman 603 Posted February 7, 2014 It is normal. I had a problem getting liquids in the first ten days or so. The previous advice is right on, sip, sip, sip!
