jlmckee 28 Posted February 6, 2014 K 11 days post op I was doing okay up till Monday. I was increasing fluids and Protein, trying to reach target. My PA called Monday, answered questions all A-OK. Then my faint and fall Monday afternoon. I've had the pain about 2 inches left of my belly button (not incision). I hadn't gone #2 since Monday. I've read on here, semi common, milk of magnesia, etc. but when I try to go, the same pain gets worse. Anyone else experience this? To top it off, I think I have a hemorrhoid (haven't had one since I had my son 14 years ago). I have my follow up with my surgeon tomorrow, I think I can wait till tomorrow to ask him, doesn't sound like an emergency, right?
music1618 879 Posted February 6, 2014 I would say give your doc a call just to make sure the pain is something that can wait!
jlmckee 28 Posted February 6, 2014 Called the surgical nurse advice line. Since the pain is the same with sneezing, coughing, trying to have a BM, on the left side, she says it's normal. No need for ER, just to let him know tomorrow. Isn't weird, pain so bad can't stand it, until she says normal, then not so bad.
Doing It 4 Them 84 Posted February 6, 2014 Have you felt faint anymore? I've started leaving the bathroom door open while in the shower and I don't feel faint anymore when showering. Good luck with your dr appt.
Kremmell785 14 Posted February 6, 2014 Are you on pain meds? If so, the definitely contribute to Constipation. I am not a dr by any means, and knowing from experience, always ask your doctor if you are concerned, but to me, it sounds like the pain is from being constipated. I get sharp pains alot in my lower abdomen when I'm constipated. I get so frustrated and try to push and the pain just gets worse. My dr recommended 2 to 3 capsules of colace per day, ask yours tomorrow. (Only use 3 in an extreme case and stay close to the bathroom) hope you get it resolved soon! Good luck!
