first fill

Hello have not posted in a while I was Banded November 12 2013 with no Fluid in my band , I have lost 21 pounds and now I go for my fist fill this upcoming Tuesday.. Need advice on what to expect. The first fill is done in the hospital, My doctor said so he can put the maximum amount in band.I have no restriction I can eat what ever I want I just choose to make better choices. Other than the slow weight loss and the challenge of staying on track this has been the best decision of my life!!!

It's usually very quick. Feeling around to find the port (may cause a little uncomfortableness at first, but not much depending on how hard they have to press around), numbing your stomach in the area around the port & they'll do the fill! It's pretty much painless. They will make sure you can get Water down just fine and you will have to do liquids for 24-48 hours after, depending on what they tell you. Although that is also just going by what mine specifically does, but yeah. It's pretty simple.

it really isn't that bad. I've had 5 fills now and it's a cake-walk and I'm a big baby when it comes to needles!!
