Biggest Loser Finale (If you haven't watched it yet do not read)

Kitt...I completely agree that it's unkind to judge either direction...in this case, if I hadn't watched Rachel's journey I may have not felt such a strong reaction to how small she was.

Debbie...I thought Jillian explained it pretty well...caffeine pill vs drinking buckets of coffee. I guess I just think that all the trainers (and I'm partial to Jillian) ultimately want a healthy result for the contestants...and probably don't care about the win so much.

I think Jillian is full of herself.. I would not want her for a trainer.. I think the show has strayed from the original concept. Too much Psycho babble with each contestant.. working out and eating right is good. They do not show much about their eating habits just focus on gym and exercise. If I did nothing but workout 8-10 hours a day I would lose rapidly too. I think a lot of the contestants re-gain after going home and that would be normal. It's impressive to see how far they go in a short period of time and I know they are healthier in the end. I think Rachel is a competitive person by nature and that is why she won but at what price? I wish they would do something different on that show to show a realistic approach to weight loss...

I've read tons of comments made by viewers after the show regarding Rachel losing too much weight and i tend to agree that she no longer looks healthy and strong like she once did. Some of the viewers even went as far as guestimating Rachel's caloric intake: anywhere from between 800-1200. Can't help but to feel self conscious about how little bandsters eat....i guess i've always wondered about the long term effect calorie restriction would have on our bodies. I eat very little, i work out tons and i have the results to show for it, but being bombarded by media that dictates no less than 1200 calorie a day, the doubt will always be on the back of my mind.

This is such a great topic. We actually did a blog post on it:

http://7bitesshow.blogspot.com/2014/02/the-biggest-loser-finale-2014-some.html

One of the points we make is that we know we don't know the whole story. We don't know what her doctors or trainer thought/thinks about the situation, honestly. But I do wonder if, for her, it was about the money more than her health? Did she push herself too far simply to win?

I am surprised at some of the people who says she looks great sorry she doesn't even at the weight I am of course I don't look great either but I don't want to change one addiction for another one...of course many of us could loose all that weight if we exercised 8 hours a day and had someone monitor what we eat. Now as for Ryan Benson they did an update on him and he is now at 300LBS...I have never wanted to be thin just healthy so if healthy is at 150lbs then so be it...I would look like a lollipop if I got any smaller NO THANKS.......HERE IS an article on then and now Biggest losers http://healthyeater.com/biggest-loser-then-now HAPPY AND SAFE LOSING TO ALL. Out of all of them I would take Danni body..smokin!!!!

One of them had the lapband can't remember wich one though , I wish I could remember, and if it was one of the contestants that got sent hoe or stayed , wish I could remember as I watched it from the beginning .

Also everybody has to remember how many hours they work out a day being there , well I am not able to work out that much as I have a job and other things in life that I have to deal with everyday , but I would have lost all my weight also if I was just working out that many hrs. and watching and logging everything I ate , I mean I do some of the eating and watching my calorie intake and I take my walks or walk up and down steps , but if I put in that many hrs. and was being watched like they are then I would unfortunally probally be like that , wich I know I wouldn't look good , and I have seen people like that and had to tell them , as we all know we don't see it till our minds catch up , unless someone else is telling us.

I watched it and I was shocked when I saw her. She looked extremely frail and unhealthy. Her legs were so small, she looked as though she was having difficulty walking. Tumi lost a lot of weight, but she looked great. Actually, I thought that everyone looked great, except Rachel.

I don't watch the show but it sounds like it has nothing to do with sensible diet and exercise and is just another contest for entertainment purposes. This isn't a slam on anyone who watches and enjoys it....let's just understand what it is....and what it isn't.

Do they do any 'where are they now' episodes? I bet not....

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
