Made it! Had to go home to retrieve passport and catch a later flight but at least I made. Coordinator Janese even came with the driver to airport to pick me at 9:20p as she wanted to go the extra mile for me as she felt bad to my rotten start leaving PP at home. The marriot was fab! big comfy bed w 4 pillows & luxurious sheets.

picked up by ALM @ 7:30 did labs i was 2nd surgery about noon. I panic if IV needle doesnt land the first time so anestetiologist (sp) put it in. i thought that was kind.

Its been 18 hrs a not a single pain. Zero nausea zero gas pains.

And I have the pain tolerance of a baby. Unbelievable.

nap time. sorry if bad typing, using a Kobo.

oh yes free wifi here and hotel. p/w posted on door.Cheers to all.

I have my surgery set for March 24th with Dr. E Ortiz.   I've read so many positive messages on here so I feel better about the trip. Looking forward to a new life!  Any more posts from anyone who has been through the surgery with him would be MORE than welcome!   Good luck to everyone!   :D

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
