Does anyone else use Profect for their Protein supplementation?

I swear by it. 25 grams of Protein, 100 calories, zero fat, zero carbs in only 3 oz. of liquid. Plus no chocolate or vanilla, if you are sick of that. It comes in 8 different fruity flavors. Plus, it doesn't have to be refrigerated. Very convenient!

Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone has tried mixing profect with anything to make a smoothie or something similar? I want to branch out, but I am not that adventuresome to try it.

Yes I swear by Profect too. For the 2 weeks post-op I had two a day and now I'm down to one. I mix it with orange juice, grape juice and V-8 has this super blueberry pomegrante juice now - all of these have no added sugar and they taste GREAT!! I have styrofoam cups at home and put about 1/2 cup of the juice along with the vial of profect and it's DELICIOUS!! I use the orange pineapple, fuzzy peach nectar and grapefruit mango with orange juice and the blueberry and passion fruit with either the grape juice and/or V8 blueberry pomegrante!! Enjoy!! :)

I am really curious about these, I saw the one for IDS which is 42grams. But I would like to buy something that people give a thumbs up to. Which flavors are really good ??

Thanks

I saw the ad for this and they sell samples at protica.com and the other was at bariatriceating.com. They seem a little pricey but if they are good, it seems like a good way to get Protein. Have a great day !!

You can buy them at Protica.com. They are a little pricey, but I justified it by telling myself that it is less than I spent a day on eating out before. Plus, I don't necessarily use one every day.

I have tried all flavors and there aren't any that I absolutely did not like. Drinking something that sweet takes some getting used to, but it sounds like they may be less sweet than the NewWhey.

I went with Profect over the NewWhey because nutritionists say you can only absorb 25-30 grams of Protein at one time, so I felt the additional Protein didn't make a difference.

My favorite flavors are the orange pineapple, grapefruit mango and fuzzy peach nectar. The other ones are good but I think only when they are mixed with something. Hope this helps!

Profect is quick and a lot of Protein in a fairly small amount of Fluid, but my own opinion is that they are terribly sweet. I have tried every flavor in the 2-sampler pack and they are all VERY sweet to my taste. However, mixing it with "Just Cranberry" or some other juice may help, if the sweetness is an issue. Also, it is soy protein-free, which is a must for those with soy allergy, such as I have.

I have tried both the Profect and the IDS (New whey). I could not stand the profect, it has a very strong taste compared to the IDS. The IDS is 42 grams of Protein per tube, but I divide them into two portions and mix it with Water. Vitamine Shoppe also carries the IDS in 25 gm of protein instead of the 42 gm. I prefer the 42 nd dividing it...comes out cheaper.

Do you think the IDS New Whey dissolves well? My problem with the whey Proteins I have tried is that they seem grainy to me and I don't really like the taste, even disguised with SF cocoa powder and coffee or frozen fruit. The egg white only powder seems more tolerable to me, but you have to add alot to get a good amount of Protein. Has anyone tried hemp Protein Powder? Gosh, it would be so much easier for me if I weren't so allergic to soy:phanvan

I think the IDS dissolves perfectly with Water. Another good product is Isopure fruit Punch. I mix it with water also and it has 40 gm of Protein per bottle.

Just checked and it looks like Isopure would be okay for me. Will give it a try, as the Profect was just too horribly sweet, I could hardly gag one down a day, though I did get through the 8 tubes I bought to try out. Hope Isopure works out better for me, thanks for the tip. Will let you know.:girl_hug:

Ok, after reading I want to thank you all for the advise. It was very helpful. I am about to buy the ids on ebay for 33.00 including shipping. That is for 12 bottles of the 42 g Protein fruitpunch ids New Whey. Do you think that is a good deal? I went to GNC but they didn't carry it. I am so excited about this because i don't think I could stand another shake. I like the idea of mixing it with Water. You guys are all awsome.....I don't know what I would do without lbt!

Has anyone tried the protein pudding? ;)

Hello...

Vitamin Shoppe sells the IDS 42gr for 2.99 a bottle. I usually buy a case online and it comes out to 2.45 p/ bottle.

I haven't heard of the Protein puddings, I'm pretty good with my different flavoured shakes, the Isopure ALpine Punch drink and the IDS.

Good Luck on your Protein quest!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
