I was sleeved on last Friday 1/31st and I was wondering when should I expect to see the scale move post surgery. I have not weighed myself because I am only 4 days out and still feel a little bloated. However, do you think the scale will show some progress when I go to the doctor on Friday? I was a lap-band patient years ago but I don't recall much in the beginning. Your advice is greatly appreciated!

Everyone is different. It took me over 2 weeks to lose the Water weight from the IVs. Relax and enjoy the journey.

I was sleeved on 1/27 and so far have lost 11 lbs. I lost 17 before surgery so that is a total of 28 lbs in a month. Since 1/3/14 when i met with my surgeon for the first time, I was 308 and today I am happy to say I am 280!

Everyone is different - I lost immediately, then stalled at 3 weeks. I know a couple of people that weighed more at the one week visit than they did right before surgery.

Your body is going to do what it's going to do - just be kind and gentle to your body. Follow your plan.

If I had to do it all over again, I'd lose the scale for the first few weeks after surgery. It saves your sanity.

Just remember - you didn't get to 224 pounds over night, don't expect to lose it overnight!

Best of luck to you.

I had to go back to my doc in one week after surgery. I had lost 16 lbs! I must admit that I weigh too often now. I went from being obsessed with food to now being obsessed with the scale!

There is no amount of advice about when to weigh that is going to stick for everybody. Everybody is gonna do what rocks their boat and settles their mind. I check every day as a incentive. And I use my own analogy about the result. If I lose, then I'm even more motivated to keep doing what I'm doing. If I stall or (the demon of all demons) gain, then I insert even more effort to double check everything and add in any adjustments I can to tweak the formula. I need the daily check to keep it number one priority. Others certainly may have other motivations to monitor their weight at longer intervals. Just go with what suits you.

You might go up and down. You will stall, you will jump for joy at each lb. lost. I would not see the scale move yet my pants were falling off. Bottom line, relax, eat right, exercise when you can, smile at your successes, keep the faith that it will get better, and enjoy your life. Positive high fives! Linda

i didn't weigh for 2 weeks after surgery. The first time I weighed, I had lost 15 pounds. A, month post-op I lost 3 more pounds. Week 5, I lost 2 pounds, and week 6, I lost 1 pound. I am a slow loser, but I hope I start to see a little more lost per week. I will admit, my pants are falling off though! Every little change is a victory!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
