I can only imagine!

Does anyone else just sit around and wonder what they will look like when they lose all their weight?

I was always thin growing up. I rapidly started gaining weight after I had kids. So, I can kind of imagine what I will look like, but then again I can't. I know what I looked as a thin teenager, but have no idea what I will look like as a thin 30 something yr old mother of four.

I can't even imagine what it must be like for those who have been overweight their whole life. Thinking of yourself thin is almost like meeting an acquaintance that you have never met in real life. You have this image of what they will look like in your head, but they may look totally different.

For those that already have lost all their weight, are you more shocked at what you used to look like compared to now or more shocked more at what you look like now than what you used to? Hope that question makes sense.

Have you tried the Myvirtualmodel.com website? I think that's what it was anyway....you put in your body type and weight and it shows you what you used to look like and what you will look like after all the weight is gone! Of course I couldn't find the button for cellulite!!!!

I've been normal weight as an adult so I pretty much knew what I was headed for.

Doesnt stop me looking like Cindy Crawford in my head though, lol.

However, the body that's emerged at 39 years old having lost all that weight isnt *quite* the same as the one I had at 28 when I was last 80kg. Its basically the same, I'm pear shaped, dont have a high muscle mass, and am very tall, so I tend to be willowy but not *fit* looking, just average. However, this time I'm MUCH thinner on the upper body,a round the arms, shoulders, neck and face, that's aging for you I guess. I was looking at a photo of myself the other day when my son was born, when I was 28 and I had big chipmunk cheeks compared to now, yet I was about the same weight.

I actually could use a little Lipo around the behind, I have a wicket set of saddlebags now that I never had before. My husband gravely informed me after a reading a cosmetic surgery add in the paper that I suffered from gluteofemoral adiposity. Yes I punched him.

I was thin until I started into early puberty at about 9 years old. I have no idea what I will look like, and I'm not sure I care all that much (okay, maybe a little). I don't think I have a very good perception of what I look like now. Photos always shock me. I'm not sure why this is, but maybe I'll be more self-aware down the road when some of the weight is off?

I think this will be a fascinating journey, can't wait to reach my first stop (banding).

Great topic, BTW!

That is funny. My appearance still shocks me, too. Probably because I tend to look at myself as little as possible. I don't want any pictures of me, nor do I really care to see them when they are.

It's kind of sad. I just haven't felt like "me" for years, so I guess it has been hard for me to confront.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
