BigRy84 4 Posted February 4, 2014 And I got married yesterday and everyone wanted to go to the diner, and I broke down and had a grilled chicken salad...will it hurt me?
RJ'S/beginning 5,358 Posted February 4, 2014 What you should do is ask your surgeon if it will hurt you. sometimes it does not make a difference. Other surgeons postpone surgery because of it.... You need to ask so you can be less concerned about it 2 K9chita and Tamik78 reacted to this
mythbuster1304 10 Posted February 4, 2014 I'm just curious how you were able to un-pureed chicken without any pain or discomfort only 5 days out? Did you eat the greens as well? I'm 3 weeks out and if I don't puree enough and get too big a chunk it can be painful or very uncomfortable.
BigRy84 4 Posted February 4, 2014 No I didn't have surgery yet...I should ask right?
mythbuster1304 10 Posted February 4, 2014 No I didn't have surgery yet...I should ask right? Ah, my mistake. I thought you were 5 days Post OP. My guess is you're fine, but do try to stick with your Dr.'s diet plan. I guess I was lucky as my Doc only required one day of liquids pre-op.
RJ'S/beginning 5,358 Posted February 4, 2014 No I didn't have surgery yet...I should ask right? There seems to be a lot of different pre-op diet plans by different doctors. It is best to check with yours and not to assume that it was alright to cheat..... Mine was 2 weeks of liquid Protein drinks and if I had cheated..He would have cancelled right away... Other surgeons are not so strict...It is best to check..k

Tamik78 12 Posted February 6, 2014 Confession: When I was on a my 14 day pre-op liquid diet, I did have actual food. If I was so very hungry I would eat one of those tuna packs or at night I have had a grilled chicken breast about 3 times in the 2 week period. I only lost a few pounds before my surgery which was 3 days ago. My "cheating" didn't seem to affect my surgery outcome. But, you really should do as I say and not as I do...follow your doctor. You don't want him cutting into your stomach and finding chicken in there. That may postpone things. 1 BigRy84 reacted to this
