IS THIS HAPPENING WITH YOUR WEIGHT LOSS?

Recommended Posts

It's funny how some of my weight loss happens. One day I can weigh say 210 and the next day I can weigh 208, same thing happened when the scale said 206 it happened in one day's time. Is this possible to lose 2 pounds in a days time? Not that I am complaining at all, just was wondering if this was happening to anyone else? I have a habit of trying to weigh myself everyday or every other day. I am trying to go back to weighing weekly. Is this happening to you???

It happens. I try to weigh myself at the same time of day, usually first thing in the morning. I've weighed myself more than once in a day and it can fluctuate throughout the day.

that's when I weigh myself too, in the morning. otherwise I know it would fluctuate.

I have experienced the same thing. I found that the weight loss that quickly is more an indication of hydration levels and if I've been dealing with Constipation. I can easily lose 2 pounds if I've not had good bowel movements for 3 days! (sorry if that is too much information!)

Likewise the "real" weight loss seems to come in waves for me. I will be at a constant weight for 3 or 4 days and then suddenly lose 1 or 1.5 pounds. It is just so unpredictable!

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
