Transition from liquids to purees.

Recommended Posts

liquid to puree is a big difference. At least it was for me. I really had no limitations with liquids. I could drink quite a bit in a very short time. The puree however will demonstrate to you just how big your sleeve really is. First measure the appropriate amount (for me about 3 ounces) and eat it very slow........then wait for the feeling of fullness. Kinda like pressure in the chest. Don't try anymore after that. Then wait for 30 minutes to drink. I pureed just about everything. It's good to have some real food taste. However, now with all the limits of a few ounces and all the before and after waiting to drink, you will have to be diligent to get in enough Protein and calories. Enjoy.

I had a hard time transitioning from the liquid to purée stage. I had a hard time keeping things down. But after 3 weeks it was much better. So I stayed on purée for 3 weeks rather than 2.. Just listen to your body. Eat slow and a little when u try new foods.

Thank you both! I just wanted to have an idea of where this is going :)

Hi,

I was so looking forward to getting off liquids but, unfortunately I had a hard time with the pureed foods also. I was only able to get in some pureed tuna and that only lasted for a minute, then my Dr. put me back on liquids again uhg. The pureed foods just were not sitting well at all. Today I tried some pureed chicken salad. It's ok I guess.

I think my big issue is texture. I can not stand the pureed taste/texture of anything :P. I keep finding myself going back to liquids each time. You may fly through puree' foods and really enjoy it. Good luck!
