According to experts, I should weigh about 132lbs. for my height.

According to appearance, I shouldn't weigh less than 150.

According to guidelines, my healthy appearance is still overweight.

According to loved ones, I would look sickly if I weighed

What experts said I should.

What's a girl to do?

I really wish they would update those 'guidelines'. They really are not a good indicator of health, especially since muscle weighs more than fat. I guess this is why a number of people on here say don't look at the scale and go by how you feel. That's easier said than done for me. Go for the weight you're happy with :)

I agree with KimK , Prettythick1 that you should go with what your comfortable and happy with , not what everybody or weight scales at the Doctors office say as we have and will look in our mirrors and see what we are looking at and if we like it or not , , it goes to the obvious we see our selves everyday after taking a shower or when we get dressed , so why should anyone else tell us what we should do or not do if we are happy with ourselves , see I did the wls for myself as I really didn't feel good and my health was spiraling down so I knew I had to change m ways of eating and excercising , I just have a little tool that helps with that because there was NO way I could do it on my own as I and many of us have tried over and over again , so yes like all the other addicted people I sought out and got help and now noticing I am noticing me more.

Per the BMI scale, I just slipped into 'overweight'. If this is overweight, I'll take it. I'm the one in the jeans.

Nice, pic, Go Walking -- you are adorable!

Pretty Thick, do not be taken in by our weird culture and the way women are portrayed by the screwed up fashion industry -- keep your curves and enjoy your figure. We are all so different as far as what we "should" weigh. Be strong, healthy and gorgeous -- that's the measuring stick!

Well it's true, GW, you have photo documentation to prove it! Hope you had a nice time in FL -- you are such an inspiration for all of us here. And you, too, Pretty Thick! Maybe you're just Pretty. Pretty amazing.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
