Did anyone else have an anti-nausea patch to wear?

Recommended Posts

Wondered if it should be really sticky? My surgeon requires me to wear one 24 hours but mine isn't super sticky and I'm afraid it will fall off

I put my patch on 2 hrs prior to leaving.

They put mine on when I was being prepped for surgery. It stayed on for two days until the nurse took it off. Be careful not to touch the medicine on it...they told me it would cause blurred vision if you touch it and then touch your eyes. I just let the nurse take care of it, LOL.

Yes, and mine stayed on just fine. Put it on and forget about it until time to remove it.

I had one when I first got in the hospital and registered. I forgot it was there :).

I always get sick after surgery. Between the shot they gave me and the patch they put on while prepping for surgery. I had no problems. Patch was on for 2 days. Took off when released from hospital.

They gave me one when I was being prepped as well, and took it off before I left 2 days later...it lasted through a shower as well.

They put one on me when I was being prepped for surgery. And the blurry vision is true! I left mine on for days and my vision was totally blurry.

Was patched at the hospital and was told it would dilate your pupils if you touched it and touched your eyes.

I took mine off the next day. I had no nausea but was so tired I could barely keep my eyes open. Apparently that's a side effect.

Are you sure you peeled the back off properly? Those things are super sticky. At least the ones il had. I know that seems like a dumb question but I've had several and that stuff is very sticky! Maybe its a different brand.....

hhmm I thought I did, it came on a plastic square in a foil wrapper, so had hubby peel the plastic off and stuck it to my ear area

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
