cmsmith26 0 Posted February 2, 2014 I had my surgery in 2005, and I am afraid to say I haven't had much success with my band. I did have to return to Dr. office 1 year after and have band re-done due to slippage. As of today I am still close to the same weight as the day I started, the long road to getting banded. I am re-visiting surgeon to see what I can do to start on the correct path. I am also hoping by joining this blog I will get hints and a support group. SecretBander 79 Posted February 2, 2014 What factors contributed to your journey? Being objective about this may help you to not go along the same path again. You've found a great resource in this site
rosettag 122 Posted February 2, 2014 When I decided to have WLS my weight had been increasing for years. It is true that you haven't lost weight, but how much would you have gained since 2005 if you hadn' t had your band? And now you can resume your journey..and be successful
JOANNE M HOLL 388 Posted February 8, 2014 Why did you get the band originally? Did you think the band would do the work for you? I would suggest you read everything about lap bands and gain positive thoughts before just trying hit or miss compliance again. If your bariatric centre (or surgeon) does not jog you to the enthusiastic road to use your "tool" please find a local meeting group and get help. There are meetings (similar to AA) that have popped up most everywhere. . . and if you can't find one. . . . . . . start one. . . . . . . you help someone & they help you & so on. . . . . pass it on. . . . to gain healthy & happy lives!
