What do u think of liquids only for a couple weeks to jumpstart my loss?

Recommended Posts

liquids only. I'm maintaining fairly easily so I know when I get to goal, I can maintain it. It's just getting off those last 18 that r killing me.

Hubby suggested I go back to liquids only for a couple weeks. Good idea? Bad idea? Crazy idea?

Comments appreciated!

sounds like torture to me!

Have you looked in to intermittent fasting instead? like 5:2 diet or 8 hour diet? I lost 7 pounds of holiday regain in less than a month doing the 8 hour diet 5 days a week. I am 2.5 years+ out from the sleeve.

NO and no.. No you dont fast. Your body needs nutrients. No not just shakes either... Change your excercise program up and drink some more Water. That should jumop start you .. Also your only 25lbs from goal. I just did a cleanse for the first time and in 10 days i took off like 8lbs from that body cleanse. Try that. It put me pretty much at goal weight.. Bottom line is you dont want to fast.. Thats what YOYO dieters do. Ever notice wieght comes right back on after you start eating again after fasting. Just my opinion but my opinion on this one is right.. HAHA..

Everyone has a right to their own opinion BUT....If you take a look at the vets forum...there are dozens and dozens of sleevers like myself 2-3+ years post-op following this plan and it works. It is intermittent fasting. Not fasting. Big difference!! You do get all the nutrients your body needs, you just allow your body to use stored energy more efficently.

I'm stuck at 153, 6 mths post revision. I've only lost 19 lbs. My fault, not really trying very hard. All of the weight came off in the first month when I was on liquids only. I'm maintaining fairly easily so I know when I get to goal, I can maintain it. It's just getting off those last 18 that r killing me.

Marfar -- I'm wondering if you're hitting all of your basic goals at this point, and if adjusting to that first might produce the results you want. I've watched your posts for a while now, and I've seen you say you revised to the sleeve to be able to eat what you want and not feel like you're on a diet. I also know you eat out a fair bit (based on your posts), and I'm just wondering if these months out you're still tracking calories and macronutrients. My family eats out a fair amount, and those restaurant calories are so sneaky! Perhaps add back some shakes to ensure Protein goals are being met, and become more restrictive on calories and carbs until you're losing again.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
