Oh no. I start mine on Tuesday. I have to do it for 6 days. I have been eating like a pig. I get cranky when I'm hungry and I'm afraid that I will yell at my husband haha. Remember, you are thisclose to surgery. You can do this!!

Yes, it sucks! But after the first few days it gets much better. I'm on day 8.

Remember, most of us have done this, and we understand. Before you know it you will be sleeved, and then on to the next phases. There will be lots of support here.

And the pre-op diet really helps you get ready for the post-op diet. I think I would have suffered more if I had been eating all out and then forced to limited liquids..

Let out a good primal scream at the box of pre-op diet shakes and give it a stern look .

That should do the trick.

I'm on day four of my pre op diet and I'm miserable. I'm starving and I want to eat. I know in the end it will all be worth it but right now February 12 seems so very far away. Is there anything at all I can snack on that won't hurt my diet? I'm doing 3 Protein Shakes a day and a low cal/carb/fat dinner. Dinner is all I can think about right now :( I'm sorry to whine but watching my husband and baby eat ( or worse preparing their meals) is killing me

SF popsicles, SF apple cider, SF Torani syrups to flavor your shakes - even Gingerbread flavor lol! SF Jello. Hot chicken or beef broth! Water, Crystal Light. I scoured the stores looking for anything I could find. Keep busy.

Not sure if it will help, but on my pre-op we were allowed 1 Metamucil capsule per day for hunger if needed.

I'm on my diet and it is hard. I keep myself busy and have about 8 different flavors of gum. Lol.

Let me be very honest. Im not hungry. I just dont like being restricted. I dislike preparing my husband and family meals. Well, it does keep me busy. I have been tempted to lick my hands a couple of times. Lol. I have to laugh about it. On the 10th, I will be going under and need to think positive.

We can and will do this. With prayer and support, we can do anything.

I am right there with you! I am supposed to do 6 shakes per day and then unlimited broth, tea, sf popsicles or sf Jello. I only managed 4 shakes yesterday and 2 today. The popsicles are nice, the cherry Jello tastes like Sucrets. My strategy at this point is to just try to sleep as much as possible.

I am going to tell them at work tomorrow that we better get all of the hard stuff done today because I expect to be brain-dead the rest of the week.

Im just doing 4 Protein Shakes a day and am just drinking as much Water or tea as I can in a day to help curb my appetite. Today I picked up this loose tea from DavidsTea (not sure if u have one where you are), but its called "forever nuts" and OMG!!! this will get me through any craving...its seriously like an apple crumble in a cup..but with a nutty flavor...so very delicious for being zero calories and decaffinated.

I guess just really going from one day to the next is the best way to go :)

I actually had a harder time on my post-op than my pre-op. That's not to say the pre-op was easy, but I could actually tell that 95% of it was head hunger, and I was able to better tamp it down.

OMG, I had sooo much broth on the pre-op that I couldn't stand it post-op!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
