I am looking for a friend/mentor they don't have to be Canadian but it would nice to have someone local to relate to.

I am going to PV to have a gastric bypass done. I had a vsg done a year ago....unfortunately it wasn't successful :( I am really hoping this works !!

Sounds like you are further in process than I am... So I don't think I would be a great mentor. But do I qualify for friend? :-)
