Chellemetime 299 Posted February 1, 2014 I went to the eye doctor yesterday to get my yearly prescription for contacts. She said to me "Ok, I'm confused. What has changed with your health since last year?" I told her I had lost almost 80 pounds and she said that explains it. Evidently, when your overweight your body retains Fluid that affects your vision. She was confused because my vision is BETTER now than it was last year. She actually gave me a lower prescription. I've been wearing reading glasses with my contacts for the past 5 years. I don't have to do that anymore! I never imagined all of the things that being overweight interferes with. My Asthma is almost non-existent, I'm on my way to no high blood pressure meds, I barely ever get sick anymore, no more restless leg and all of my allergies are pretty much gone. I love my sleeve! 3 keish_lorraine, 1Day1Life4Now and Noor1969 reacted to this
able2cope 193 Posted February 1, 2014 I think that this is just great! Unfortunately I've got diabetes too, which 'is' getting better but I've some sort of cataract (not the usual type) behind my eye, so eyesight steadily gets worse - hopefully once this is seen too, I will be able to see better too. I'm so glad that everything is coming together for you - its great to hear the success stories of the sleeve
Noor1969 150 Posted February 1, 2014 Wow! What a cool side effect of having the surgery! I am TERRIBLY nearsighted (my glass lenses are like Coke bottles, LOL) and would love to have my prescription go down. Hoping to be off the BP meds as well.

able2cope 193 Posted February 2, 2014 Thank you - I hope so too, but I have a feeling I will have to wait until it gets a lot worse before I can get it better.
