YES! I met my goal..and I've lost 100lbs since my surgery in September. I'm beyond thrilled :) So is my doc. He was grinning like the Cheshire Cat yesterday at my appointment!

Thank you for the kind words! I'm now going to start weighing only once a month...so no more weekly check-ins beginning in March. I was starting to see a bad habit forming of weighing more than once in the week and stressing over the numbers...it's not about the numbers for me. So, bye-bye scales.

Happy Thursday to you all!

You may not have lost 100 but I don't think the word "only" belongs in front of a 75 pound loss my dear. That's incredible!! It's very easy to catch ourselves minimizing how much we have lost when comparing to others. I have caught myself doing it from time to time. Great job!!

I don't know what's happening, but I keep gaining and gaining. I had a fill about two weeks ago. The first three days, I lost 5 pounds. I was sooooo happy! A few days later, I'm up the 5 pounds I lost plus two more pounds. That's unbelievable! How can I gain 7 pounds in less than a week? Even at my highest weight of 206, I NEVER gain more than two pounds a week. What the heck is going on?

Have you started a different workout regiment or is it that time of the month? We all have fluctuations that drive is crazy. Try to keep doing what you know is right and I'm sure it'll fall off.

Picking myself n moving forward ...

Stayed the same 211. Didn't met my weight goal but my body is definitely looking leaner. Onederland I will get there slow and steady. Guess my body is slowing down with the weightloss but I will continue on my journey knowing this plateau will pass eventually I'm more than halfway to my goal 83 down 60 to to go. Definitely a different person physically and mentally from this time last year so it's a win this month as well

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
