fascinating.

However, one month isn't enough time for a true test, imo

I agree totally but as WLS peeps we already know lower carb and lower sugar is what helps reduce carvings and to lose weight. You DO need good fats, though!!

They sure don't share many facts in that article or what specifically led to their conclusions.

It was odd. The one that ate low carb lost more... So that must mean that quality of carbs matters more than quantity and that moderation is better? I don't follow the logic. Seems like they wimped out on their conclusion. Plus they both look pretty thin already.

If I ate the carb plate described by the photo for a month (looks like all white flour and sugar)... there is NO way I would lose ANY weight. I'm sure it was just a prop.. but like you say... they really don't give you any details at all. If you want more details you might be able to find the Horizion show someplace. Thats where the 5:2 plan was hatched as well.

I just watched it, worth the time. Same good quality as the "fast diet" program. Some good take away info.

One interesting thing they find is fat by itself is not addicting, and sugar by itself is not addicting... but put them together 50/50 and they become addicting... you don't find a 50/50 mix of sugar and fat in nature, and our bodies don't have a shut off mechanism and we like how it tastes.....so cheese cake, donuts, icecream.... addictive.... but not a spoon of sugar.
