A week after surgery I did soo much walking and was feeling okay . To tell you I even went to a concert and stood up for like 5 hours . I was extremely Thirsty I been drinking a lot of Water I didn't even know my stomach would be able to hold I haven't thrown up or nothing so idont know if that's normal . I always been a fan of water but after surgery well the first 3days I was only drinking like a teaspoon of water . Now I'm getting hungry and thirsty ugh

what are you afraid of? drinking Water is GOOD...seems like you are doing well there. The hunger you are experiencing may be "head hunger"...i.e. it's all in your head; you have what you can eat, you will probably find eating much more will cause you to "dump"... try a hot cup of Decaf tea to help you get thru the hunger... slow sips of a hot beverage can be very satisfying...

good luck, sounds like you on track and doing well...

Drinking lots of Water is great...If you are only a few weeks out make sure that you are sipping k...If you find you are dealing with head hunger it could be that your Protein intake is not enough...

I have found that having a Protein Drink or a Protein juice mix standing by and sipping it all day really helps the hunger and gives you the protein you may be lacking.....

Sounds like you are doing great, going to the concert! I too was out of the house shopping 4 days after surgery. I experienced that head hunger and we ate a ton of popsicles, it seemed. We make sure we always have Water around, and keep drinking. Our NUT and surgeon said do not eat 3 meals a day. Eat only when you are hungry. Sounded weird, but, at 2 months post op, it works especially well. We stay busy, and when each of us feels the need, we eat something. Thank God no more binging. You are probably a little nervous like I was, I felt I really was tiptoeing around with the sleeve, scared of this or that. But everything gets better every day, I promise! Best of luck!

I am scared also. I am now 2 days out and I am afraid that I may be stretching it back out. I am thirsty so I drink Water. When I need something else I "sip" on baby food 1st stage bananas. Yum!

I don't want to have gone through this and find that I lived my worst nightmare.. stretching it out.

I am fresh out of the hospital. Staying in a hotel tonight with my Mom. Walking and sipping walking and sipping.

I dont feel anything but pain in my tummy. Is that normal?

Eyoung, it is the unknown that is scary. Relax, follow your instructions and rest. We are 2 months post op. I think everyone worries about stretching. We had no pain at home requiring meds, guess because we took it easy. I was out shopping 4 days after surgery, feeling like a million dollars now. Take care!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
