UNbLIVable 10 Posted January 31, 2014 I'm 8 weeks post op I've noticed my hands and feet are so dry and are cracking to the point it's painful and bleeding. I know it's winter but I live in South Florida, it's not really winter. Anyone else with dry skin? What do I use? Everything I seem to use doesn't moisturize enough and pretty much all lotions I have put on burn!
erp 2,016 Posted January 31, 2014 Same thing happened to a friend, she added healthy fats like fish and flax oil into her diet and her skin improved. 1 SuperFab reacted to this

RJ'S/beginning 5,358 Posted January 31, 2014 I know back to natural things..but coconut oil helps a lot and gives you a nice fruity, fresh smell...You can get it at costco or in the health food section at your local supermarket.....I use it after every bath now and it really works. 1 Blondiee reacted to this
Texasmeg 568 Posted January 31, 2014 At 4.5 weeks, I'm still on a liquid diet and my skin is extremely dry. I use a lot of lotion.
Teachamy 1,042 Posted January 31, 2014 I use Jergens for extra dry skin.
Shells_Almost_There 357 Posted January 31, 2014 Yes to the good oils and lotions but also try to drink more water! The dehydration can be a killer. My lips are chapped all the time, which is my reminder to drink more liquids. For my dry hands and feet, I just found a product at the local co-op called Booda Butter (truly a goofy name), it's shea butter, cocoa butter and oils - it is amazing and smells edible. The company is out of Bellingham, Washington and I highly recommend it for the dry skin.
DirtyHarriett 94 Posted January 31, 2014 AQUAPHOR!! Best stuff ever. Feels a little heavy going on but huge Improvement in a few days. Can get at most stores and affordable. The dry skin does improve over time. Hang in there
mickally 95 Posted January 31, 2014 (edited) I use a sugar scrub made with cocoanut oil everyday when I shower it keeps my skin from drying out. I make my own found recipe on Pinterest. Edited January 31, 2014 by mickally

Blondiee 278 Posted January 31, 2014 I second RJ's recommendation of coconut oil. Good for your skin, hair and cooking. I keep one in the bathroom and one in the kitchen. 1 FSU GIRL reacted to this
FSU GIRL 13 Posted January 31, 2014 As soon as I get out of shower morning & evenings I rub coconut on. I've always done this. At night I even put it in my face.
