vanceheather5 69 Posted February 18, 2014 Thanks!!! Have u started soft foods yet? Or still liquids?
jpov821 79 Posted February 18, 2014 Today I had a French onion Soup from long horn without the cheese. I ate a little bit of the bread(it was very soft) that was in it and some of the onions and I didn't have a problem. That's the closest to non liquids I've had. I have my first post-op follow up appoint. I'm gonna see what my Dr says and see if maybe I can start some mashed potatoes this week or something. We'll see
vanceheather5 69 Posted February 18, 2014 It's soooo ridiculous that I feel like I just ran a marathon after I do something simple like getting my kids ready for school.
vanceheather5 69 Posted February 18, 2014 So I have been freaking out that I've been able to drink about 1.5-2 cups of liquid over 30 min period. I thought that was too much. The surgeons said that it was great to be able to drink that much but won't be able to eat that much. So today I made a cheddar potato Soup and could only eat 1/4 of a cup of it and was full! 2 KQH and SliminDownThick reacted to this
jpov821 79 Posted February 18, 2014 (edited) Yeah I think the thinner liquids go down a lot easier. The cheddar potato is a lot thicker so it probably filled you more. Edited February 18, 2014 by jpov821
jpov821 79 Posted February 20, 2014 How you feeling Heather?
vanceheather5 69 Posted February 20, 2014 In doing pretty good. I'm down 23 lbs since pre op. I raked the yard today! I'm still pretty sore around my incisions but overall fairly good! I get tired very quickly but that'll get better. I ate mashed potatoes today. It took me almost 2 hrs to eat a cup. Lol but held them down. I think in ready for softs but I'd LOVE some meat! How about you?

jpov821 79 Posted February 20, 2014 That's awesome!! I'm feeling pretty good too! My incisions don't really hurt much but they are ridiculously itchy. I just wanna scratch the hell out of them!! I'm actually gonna have done mashed potatoes tomorrow when we go out to Rainforest Cafe for my nieces birthday. Not many other options!! I can't wait for meat!!! I feel like a savage!! 2 SliminDownThick and vanceheather5 reacted to this
jpov821 79 Posted February 21, 2014 I really can't believe the small amount of food that makes me full. It's definitely gonna be an adjustment!
