Do you have a favorite food as a "sleever?"

Recommended Posts

I don't know what stage exactly I'm on yet but my favorite food right now is salmon sashimi. I LOVE IT! I did not like sashimi before surgery but now, dipped in some soy sauce, I'm in heaven. :) Second favorite, though not asked, is chicken Soup (made with mixed vegetables, lots of great seasonings, and a little gravy).

How far out did you have sashimi? I love sashimi as well but have not had it I'm 6 weeks out

Refried Beans with cheese and guacamole.

Seafood salad.< /p>

Shrimp burgers.

Steamed shrimp and crab legs.

Do you make your own seafood salad and shrimp burgers? How are shrimp burgers made?

I buy seafood salad as a recipe makes so much and I eat so little. My husband does like shrimp burgers, so I am going to try and make this recipe:

http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/rachael-ray/spicy-shrimp-burgers-recipe.html

I will sub red pepper for green and leave out the icky celery.

They are very basic and yummy!

If you have Fresh Market, that's where I buy mine!

almost one year out, my favs are shrimp, crab legs, greek yogurt, cheese sticks, pistachios and edamame seeds. all are high Protein foods too, so that's a bonus.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
